It has a black humor, plenty of silliness and a healthy disregard for authority figures, with inflated egos. It is set in north Yorkshire.Bill isn’t your average grandfather, he is married to a horrible witch named Ivy, who is so bad tempered that even the devil keeps his distance. Ivy is always trying to kill Bill, not because she dislikes him it’s because he is always happy and she hates happiness.Bill has hobbies, his main one is keeping out of Ivy’s way.

He grows vegetables which don’t like to be picked and cooked. When you live with a witch nothing is ordinary. In a magic household even slugs can cause problems for Bill.But this summer Bill has a way to escape from Ivy. Their grandsons Sean and Lukeare to coming to stay and you know Ivy is going to hate seeing the three of them having fun.Sean and Lukes parents are going away on a business trip. The boy’s mum knows Ivy is a witch, but their dad has no idea. He just think she a ugly old crone and he prays his wife won’t ever look like her mother.After the boy’s parents leave, Bill takes the boy’s out for Fish and Chip in neighboring Whitby.

They take Bert, a cowardly flying magic car who throws up when he’s scared.At Whitby Abbey they meet a mysterious and terrifying hooded figure who ruins his scary image by tripping up. It not just one mysterious figure but four very stupid vampire flowers. They’re on a journey to find Dracula but instead all they find is people who laugh at their silly accents and their pathetic attempts to look scary.

After much laughing at the vampire flowers, Bill and the boy’s join up with them.The vampire flowers have a map to find Dracula but it’s not a vampire locating map but a treasure map. So Bill and the boy’s and the four idiots flowers join forces to find the treasure instead of Dracula.The treasure is in a remote place.

Using Bert they fly into adventures with the help of map world, a living map filled with batty witches, stuck up wizards, stupid ogres, smelly trolls, rampaging cows and flying sheep and other lunatics.Ivy soon finds out the Bill and the boy’s are on a treasure hunt. She sets off wanting her fair share, which is all of it. Bill comes up with a plan to lead Ivy to fool’s gold while they get the real treasure. Now the fun begins!
